The Door of Doom, a ghost story by Hugh B. Cave, appeared in "Strange Tales of Mystery and Terror" in January 1932. Four friends, known as the "deathless four", are sole survivors of a squadron of the R. F. C. during World War, and meet annually to remember those who did not come back.
The "leader" of the group has leased a haunted mansion on one of the Moors of England. The locals claim that anyone staying there is absolutely insane, and some have not returned. The mansion comes complete with a Chinese servant who, we find, has been there through numerous Masters.
Dinner the first night is interrupted when suddenly a piece of paper appears on the table out of nowhere with this threatening message "The Iron Door on the lower court must not be opened. All of the rooms in the house are yours; but the iron door bars the secret of the Master, and death is the penalty for intrusion. There will be no other warning."
Listen to Mike Vendetti's chilling narration of "The Door of Doom" to experience the heart-pounding terror and suspense of this classic ghost story. But beware, for once you open the door to the unknown, there may be no turning back.
